  • New update won’t load

The latest update, 2024.12, won’t load. All I get is the spinning icon at the bottom. So much for fixing the issues. I give up. Thanks Outside for degrading a decent product.
  • None Better!

I’ve tried switching to other apps over the years, tempted by the latest features, but I always find myself coming back to Gaia. Its maps and data are always the most accurate and up-to-date. From Canada to North Carolina to Alaska, it’s been my go-to for hiking, mountain biking, and off-road adventures. Whether overlanding or exploring the backcountry, Gaia consistently outperforms the competition. I don’t think I’ll ever leave it again—it’s simply the best.
  • Very glitchy downloading offline maps

I have been trying to download a set of offline maps for a few hours and all the downloads stop at 11%. The “resume download” button does not work no matter how many times I press it. Based on how expensive this subscription is, you would think that the main feature of Gaia pro (downloading offline maps) would function better. I would definitely not purchase Gaia pro.
  • FIX THE LOGIN

After purchasing app, I am unable to login! Why am I being asked to login to Outside? What a waste of my time and money.
  • Snap to trail feature not work offline

While I really enjoy this app, I’m dismayed that a feature that’s only available for premium subscriptions doesn’t work as it’s supposed to. Premium users are supposed to be able to download maps and offline routing data so they can not only view maps when offline, but also snap to trail when planning hiking routes offline. Regrettably, this feature does not work which is a major disappointment. After downloading a topo map and offline routing data for a given area (e.g., Oregon) as a premium user, I can snap to trail anywhere in the downloaded area while connected to the internet. However, if I put my iOS device in airplane mode and try to snap to trail in the same area(s), all I get are straight lines that don’t follow the trail. Please evaluate and fix this feature, or stop promoting it as available for premium users. I primarily paid for a premium plan for this feature and to find out it doesn’t work, after considerable testing and debugging, is quite frustrating and disappointing. I have submitted 3 technical support requests for this over the past 6 months and the issue is still not fixed.

Was working great until the last update. Now I can't login without joining yet another app called Outside? Ridiculous.
  • No longer good

Tried to use the app today after using it reliably for over two years. The login screen never goes away. It continually says login failed and there are no other options to try and find a solution. The “outside” update was a fail. Time to find an alternative.

I am unable to login to my app. Why? This was not an issue before.

I use Gaia personally and professionally over 100 days a year. It has a great selection of layers, unlike similar apps like OnX. I’ve always really liked the “Gaia Topo (feet)” layer for navigation in the field. It’s easy to read, and it has all the information I need without a lot of clutter. Unfortunately over the last year, proper names of major features and altitude labels for contour lines have disappeared from this layer. This makes it much harder to use. Despite several updates this hasn’t changed. I usually recommend Gaia to my clients for navigation because of the ease of use, but I’ve had to stop doing that.
