  • The real deal

BY FAR THE BEST! I’ve tried the other language apps and sorely missed Pimsleur before they had an app (I’d been using their CD’s). I’m happy to be back with the app version and like how they’ve incorporated the written language (compared to the CD version). The competition just doesn’t do as good a job building vocabulary. Pimsleur, while necessarily repetitive, isn't boring and feels effortless and conversational. New vocabulary is seamlessly integrated and grammatical concepts feel intuitively acquired. Its just like how a child learns a new language, language immersion but bite sized and systematic. And now with the app, they make it fun with interactive games that reinforce the learning. What’s not to like? Nothing.
  • Broken UI on iOS 18

The app UI is fundamentally broken on iOS 18. The most obvious example is trying to back out of a lesson. You can’t tap the back button.
  • The only APP you’ll need!!

I love this app because it has you speaking immediately after staring lesson 1. I also love the way the courses are organized and the pimsleur method. This I think is the most natural form of learning a language and effective. Love the app and the price is great as well. (In portuguese) Muito obrigado pelo app. Eu ja consigo entender e falar Portuguese.
  • Adding a New Language to the Pimsleur App

As a native Welsh speaker, ive noticed that there is no Welsh language option. I was hoping that eventually this app could have the Welsh option for those who’d want to learn it. Besides that, this is a good app for learning a new language.

Good App. They need to make it easier to remove one of the languages selected in the top three if someone wants to switch it around.

I’ve used Pimsleur to learn Spanish, French and Italian. Going back decades to when they were cassettes. I’m back now for Hindi and it’s amazing how much better it’s become. And it was already very good. I’ve tried other methods and Pimsleur is simply the best. Especially for pronunciation.
  • Best app to faster reach a conversational level in Spanish

My favorite language learning app I’ve ever used. I take online lessons with two teachers from Mexico, but in between classes, I’m listening to Pimsleur audio lessons just about every day. My teachers have been quite impressed with how much I’ve learned from Pimsleur. While other apps focus more on reading comprehension and grammar, Pimsleur focuses on listening comprehension and speaking skills. What I like most is that the conversations within the lessons are realistic and likely things you will say or hear if visiting a Spanish speaking country or speaking Spanish among friends. I’ve learned many, many useful phrases that have been drilled into my memory thanks to Pimsleur’s excellent spaced repetition method. When it comes to being able to hold a conversation in Spanish, no other app will get you as far as Pimsleur can.
  • Really works well when you commute by car

I find the Pimsleur method really effective, especially if you’re focused on speaking the language. This is because it doesn’t require any reading or writing and since I have a long drive for my commute, I would play the program and I can recite it without getting any funny looks. The app itself has flash cards and other interactive features but it’s not really enough if you also want to focus on reading/writing. Each lesson is around 30 min so it’s short enough not to be too overwhelming. If you’re getting ready to go on vacation to a foreign country, I think this program is perfect to take 1-2 months prior to your trip. I have used it for French and now learning Japanese!

Far superior to other language learning methods I have tried. Straightforward and a little fun.

This app gives you lessons in an order that makes sense and is way more practical for language learning. It allows you to speak and actually apply the language you are learning.
