  • Hand Holding App

I was already sitting down and spending time with my kid, hand in hand, sounding out and reading. Maybe I was personally mistaken but this app doesn’t assist with sounding out words, the sliding bar is manual and doesn’t provide the phonics IN THE APP. There is a lot of parent interaction which is fine but I don’t need to pay for that, I can sit down with my kid for free. —- Follow up Thanks for the condescending response. I have zero issues spending time with my kid and helping them read and sound out words, but as stated in my ORIGINAL review. I don’t need to spend $$ money on an app when I can and am doing this with my kid for free.

  • 7-day free trial isn’t really “free”

Great app! However, you better cancel the 7-days free trial on day SIX because they took my money directly on day 7! I’ve reached out and no one has responded so now I’m going to have to go through my bank and report them. Other than that, my child enjoyed the app!
  • My son is a confident reader

I subscribed to the app when my son was 4 years old, and he already knew all of his letter sounds. In a few short months, he went from individual letter sounds, to blending letter sounds, to reading confidently as he enters kindergarten. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to teach their child how to read and not just recognize sight words. I can’t thank the developers enough.

I can’t express enough how amazing this app is. My now first grader is reading at a second grade level! This app, in addition to the phonics lessons at school, have made my kiddo such a voracious reader that we’re heading to the library three times a week. The app is so much fun, very easy to use, and teaches my child the correct way to sound out letters and words in a very fun way. The books are so cute and my kid loves the little characters she earns after every lesson. Warning though: the alphabet song is very catchy and you might find yourself singing it at the grocery store. Can’t express enough how much I love this app!

I wanted to do the free trial for seven days. There is no setting in the app. There is no options to cancel subscription so you’re not charged. And while trying to figure it out, it charged us a yearly rate inside the app. It has various letters and interactions. Your child can learn but you need to be hand-in-hand with your child while on the app depending on your childs education with a tablet, a mouse, computer… it has your child trace but you will need a table pencil if you wish them to learn this skill.
