  • Not worth if unless you constantly need a new sitter

    I need a sitter for one night while I’m out of town and have to pay $40 to just message someone back. Total crock.

    The service is good, but the app is so slow and buggy. Half the time I can’t access emails on my phone

    Here’s the deal. Will it help you find a caregiver for your child? Sure. Is it a complete pain in the ace to do? Well…lets talk about that. Let me preface this by saying that I architect and design mobile apps for a living. Whoever designed this app needs to be demoted and I don’t say that lightly. The basic things like messaging people is a complete mess, almost as id there’s two separate inboxes depending on how or what screen the message was sent. Also, some of the profiles of the care givers are so old that they aren’t even checking the app. There’s also no way to know if you have messaged someone to inquire about availability without offering them the job. I have also talked to caregivers that we interview or hire, and they say that they don’t even get notified when we send them messages half the time. I could go i to a lot more detail…but they need a good QA team to dive into the issues.

    I have found care.com to be very helpful in finding, and maintaining care for my loved ones. The filters are very nice once you understand how to use them, otherwise that can be a bit of a stumbling block to having access to possible workers…my advice is to chat with the business office if this happens and they can help. I have used this service over the years and recommend it. What would be nice is if there were an easier path to find the contact information for the business office or to “chat” with them, That is not easy to navigate to, but is a good place to go to broaden your search capabilities/access to more caregivers.

    Just started using the app. As I was updating my profile, when I would click on the pets section it would take me to the home section. Makes me wonder if I should dump the app after all the negative reviews I just saw. Need to make sure EVERYTHING works as advertised before developers push the app out.

    I have given Care.com several tries, wanted this to work, but it didn’t and has cost me - A LOT. Beware - if you sign up, they will trap you in a subscription. You cannot cancel from the app. Difficult to cancel and even when I have chatted to cancel, it doesn’t work. Meanwhile, charged for $50/no for several months. They will hide behind the Terms of Use as to the reasons why they can’t refund the money. Such poor and disappointing experience and sub-par customer service. I have escalated and am told a supervisor will review. I asked for an email to write too. Nope, “don’t call us, we’ll call you”. Zero confidence my concern will be addressed. They have no problem taking your money while they make it difficult to cancel and set you free. Most of us are busy care givers in search of help. Guess what we don’t have? Time to play games, and money to pay for a useless service

    I downloaded the app to find a nanny. But writing up a post, saving/editing favorites and updating my profile were a nightmare. My photo (which meets the guidelines) was denied but I can’t change it. I put my child’s DOB in and the app displays a very incorrect age group. And lastly, my new job posting has old data when I view it that isn’t there when I go into edit. Do you guys even test??

    They get you to sign up for monthly or annual services that are difficult to cancel. No refunds even if you do not use the services. Buyer beware.
