Great sounds for Kraut, Techno, Industrial, hip hop. You cant really go wrong here. Its super simple. I prefer the computer app to the phone app. Been using it for everything now for years. Keep the updates coming! Add more!

I am a professional producer and musician with a million tools. I love this app because it feels like a real old school DM, and it's a great practice tool. No complaints, really, just want you to keep it going, and I'm a bit nervous about getting too invested cause i believe this is just a small operation...please please please keep updating for new os and etc...it's so great. stable, simple, sounds great, has everything. If i had ONE advanced feature request, it would be...unlock different subdivisions and lengths for each part! But that's a huge change and covered well by other more complex programs......so...nevermind
  • Export Crashes the Program

I use DM1 mainly on my Iphone and it works perfect. Best drum machine software ever. That's another story on my Imac - The feature are great but what's the point if the program crashes EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to export a file? Also, very buggy when in fullscreen mode. But the lack of export stability makes it just another expensive gadget. Please guys, please fix this...

Why doesn't this work in logic yet? If you really want, just make a new version and sell it in the App Store that works with Lodgic please.
  • Feeble Imitation of Caustic

It's disgraceful that this app is rated as highly as it is by Apple. I couldn't believe the other reviews were accurate, but they are: The system doesn't work well in full-screen mode, it takes forever to render, etc. This seemed initially like an M1 compatibility problem, but the problems are too widespread-- even scrolling between different drum kits doesn't really work properly, very hit or miss. I selected this app because the UI appeared similar to Caustic for Android, which I'm already familiar with, and I don't want to bother transferring rendered files from my Android phone or one of my tablets to my Mac. But this app lacks many features that Caustic has, including some really basic ones like, er, metering for the mixer? The one file I successfully rendered was terribly overloaded, and I had no way of telling (other than guesstimating based on the audio) that it was clipping so badly until I imported it into Reaper and actually looked at the meters in THAT program, and saw the waveforms in the tracks. Also, if there's a way of copying a series of patterns-- a verse, chorus or break-- and inserting it somewhere, I haven't figured out what it is. Many of the sounds are all mysteriously weak-- like each drum kit has something unusable in it-- a snare with a weird decay, or a robotic rimshot. A program like this should have at least a few usable kits right out of the box, but there's something vaguely unpleasant about one or more samples in each kit, whether contemporary, vintage, acoustic, or drum-machine based. I figured maybe I would just keep this for sketching, but the latest problem: Rendering audio files not only takes forever, as another user complained here, but the program crashes during rendering! I am disgusted that Apple seems to have joined the ranks of shady sites like Indiegogo, and has now adopted the corporate philosophy that it's fine to sell products that do not actually work at all. I'm going to see if I can get my $9.00 back. This program isn't worth half that.
  • I really want to like this!

Full screen doesn't seem to work correctly on my 1920x1080 monitors. midi learning 'forgets' when I use my launchkey to trigger pads. haven't tried using the akai with it yet. Love the fact this this was built, but it doesn't do anything useful for me at the moment, unfortunately.

I'm assuming if I use curse words, my review will be taken down but rest assured, I would use all of them in my description of this app. Trying to export your beat once you have it results in a myriad of fails including but not limited too: immediately crashing the program, exporting only part of the song (not even ther first or last part, often just a chunk in the middle somehow), and most mindblowing of all - TEMPO CHANGING IN THE TRACK. That's right, a drum machine that when exporting to wav file will somehow speed up or slow down the track, and not even the entire track - I'm saying as the track goes on it speeds up. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE IN A DRUM MACHINE? Using the app itself is intuitive and comes with a great bank of classic drum machines (including some oddball ones you don't see often) but what good is that if I cannot export the beat to a DAW? I would give this minus five stars if I could just for the time I've spent fixing the issues its faulty export function creates. DO NOT BUY THIS APP.
  • Feels slow

I love these kind of applications. However, this one feels sluggish. Specially when you have to scroll through the instrument collections. BTW, that window does not have a close button, so you have to kind of guess how to close it to go back to the main window.
  • Beautiful instrument and fantastic drum machine

DM-1 is easy to get into and deep enough to keep you playing for a long time. Includes a beautifully designed interface, lots of sounds, and plenty of options. Thanks for helping and inspring musicians.
