Description

DFX is a powerful real-time Quad Multi-Effects Processor for iPad. With an intuitive and beautiful user interface for easy playability and instant fun. We are curious. We like new experiences. We welcome unexpected discoveries. And... we are musicians. It was an obvious choice for us to develop for the iPad the multi-effects that we wanted, that we needed for our thirst for sound. Four powerful and multipurpose chained effects, driven by trackpads for fast and easy sonic explorations. Like a million of pedal boards on a device. Plug in any audio source, a guitar, a bass, a microphone, a DJ mixer. Or play your favorite iOS synth or drum machine with Audiobus or Apple Inter-App Audio. Or why not playing a track from your iTunes Music Library. Select one, two, three or four effects amongst 35 hi-quality digital audio effects and explore endless sonic possibilities. Delays, echos, reverbs, filters, tremolo, autowah, compressors, distortions, vocoders, resonators, etc… more possibilities that you can imagine. At last, but not least, DFX is also a great little sound design machine. Just select one of the built-in tone synthesizers on the first effect and let your imagination build new sound landscapes at the tip of your fingers. We have had a lot fun making ours in the Factory presets. No in-apps, no ads, no fuss. DFX is simple, intuitive and fun. No user guide required ;^) _____________________________________________________________________ Specifications: - From the makers of DM1 - The Drum Machine - Designed by Jonas Erikson - 10 effect categories  - Delays : Sync Delay, Ping Pong, Tape Delay - Reverbs : Metal box, Hall, Descent, Reflections, Freeze,  - Filters : High Pass, Low Pass, High Shelf, Low Shelf - Phase : Phase Flux, Vibe Chorus, Phase Shift - Modulation : Wave Tremolo, AutoWah, Envelope Follower, Ring Modulator - Distortion : Wave Shaper, Bias, Raw, Bit Crusher, Synthizer - Voice FX : Vocoder, Resonator, Formant Simulator - Pan : Stereolizer, AutoPan, Leslie - Dynamics : Noise Gate, Compressor - Instruments : High Tone Synth, Bass Tone Synth, FM Bells Generator, String Pulse Generator, Noise Pulse Generator - Audiobus compatible - Audio Inter-App compatible - 4 playable trackpads with real-time waveforms - Live Effect Swapping - Live recording - Recordings manager - Recordings exporter - Built-in Countdown - Built-in Tone Synths (high and bass) - Built-in Output Limiter for a controlled output - Built-in Metronome - Tempo Synced animations - Effect Solo Mode - iTunes playback - Presets Manager (factory & user) - Fullscreen Favorite Presets for fast live access Watch DFX video trailer on YouTube Fingerlab's channel: http://www.youtube.com/fingerlab Feel free to let us know what you think and what you'd like to see in the next DFX update. This has some amazing feature, but crashes every time I try to change presets and sometimes while recording. I'll update this when they fix these issues.

This app is fantastic. It sounds great, and the functionality you get is unbelievable for the price. I had created some very inspiring patches within 30 minutes of buying it. If you're on the fence, definitely get it, especially if you don't already own many effects processors. I like it so much that I wish there was a VST version so I could use it on my desktop in Ableton Live, though I've heard this can be done with studiomux, which I'm definitely going to get so that I can hopefully use DFX on desktop too.
  • This is 'seriously' sick!

I can't believe the wide range of sounds I've gotten out of this app in just 5 minutes of fiddling around with the controls and the pad control touch screens! And the ability to modulate the sound using circular to flattened ellipses. Insane!

No complaints. There's a minor bit of lag that happens but I can easily look past it with all the features this app has.

Super update! Altogether a well put together app with some unique effects. This should be in every iOS music toolbox. No problems with it's reliability nor any unwanted/unexpected noise on this iPad Air 2.

Multi fx app, maybe of all music apps. The power of turnado with some lemur-esque functionality (love the automated movement and circle resizing). Great sounding and easy to get going
  • No longer works, crashes on startup, support working on it.

This used to work, now won't even startup on its own. Broken on iOS 8.3 and iPad Air 2. Heard back from support, they've done some investigation and promise they're working on a fix.
  • Finally Works!!

Despite my harsh comments in the past about this app not working, I do have to admit that it was out of frustration when a update shortly after the release of DFX would render it useless. But I’m here to say that after an update posted on 5/9/15 has put DFX on the back in business list again! After running it through Audioshare via IAA and testing it with synth apps like Alchemy, Magellan and few others, I’m glad to say it FINALLY WORKS!! Thanks for the fix but going forward I will not update this app again unless it’s truly necessary.

  • Performance?

The UI is great... The filters are fantastic... But there seems to be a lot of popping with this app. Also, the animated wave will freeze when messing with some of the filters. I've tried it in audiobus and just by itself, and it just seems like it needs a performance tweak. BTW, I'm running an iPad Air, so it shouldn't be my hardware. It's a five star app without these issues.
